So soft and comfy but too tight around the thighs

I sized up to an L from my usual size (M at La Senza and Cotton On) and they fit perfectly except for being too tight around the thighs so they create a line that is visible through skirts and jeans. They are really comfy other than that.

Lovely fabric, weird gusset

The briefs feel lovely on my skin and dry quickly after they’ve been washed but I’m mystified why there’s a white gusset in black briefs.
